I think what finally convinced me was when I realized just how much time I was spending and in all reality wasting each day in front of the mirror, trying to cover my balding areas. I was spending more time and money on fine tooth combs, special brushes, numerous hair sprays and gels, but what really put me over the top was when I would be embarrassed if my girlfriend saw the way I would pat and use the mirror to try and cover up. I also noticed I had acquired a very large baseball cap collection and I was buying hats to try and hide the fact that I was in fact hiding my hair or lack of. I scheduled a second consultation and within 5 minutes, I knew this was the right decision and made my mind up to schedule my procedure. I cannot even begin to describe how impressed I have been with your Houston staff beginning with the intructions and support prior to my surgery and the awesome professionalism that was displayed during my procedure.
I arrived on time at 7:30am... every effort was made to see I was as comfortable as possible. Dr. Crawshaw came in and explained every aspect of the procedure. The staff provided videos to watch, constantly offered me beverages, again always asking if I was comfortable... Dr. Crawshaw... explained every medicine and what to expect. Truth is I was feeling pretty good. I drove myself home and was surprised when approxomately two hours later, the doctor called me at home to check on me and see if I had any further questions. I had a little over 2,000 grafts during my first procedure and went right on with my normal activities the next day. I was so impressed with the overall treatment, I opted not to wait a yearlike I had originally planned and had my second procedure of 2,000 plus grafts performed 8 weeks later. It has been 4 months since my first procedure and already my two "landing strips" in the front are covered with new growth. I spend at least half the time getting ready now, and I can't wait to try new hairstyles now that I don't have to play "cover-up" every day for 20 or so minutes. I also am not embarrassed to get ready in the bathroom with my girlfriend anymore. In such a short period of time this procedure has had such a profound impact on my life. I only wonder what took me so long, and I tell everyone. I am not one bit ashamed or embarrassed. For the first time in over 10 years I actually have a hairline. This is such a small investment in oneself for the rewards you reap. I would highly recommend Bosley Medical to anyone considering hair transplant surgery or with receding or balding hair. My advice, don't wait, you will thank yourself.
